2 Things To Do Before A Full-Service Moving Company Comes

When you get ready to move, you may look at everything that has to happen and decide you don't want to mess with any of it. You can hire a full-service moving company to help you with the move. With one of these moving companies, you don't have to do any work. They will come in, pack you up, load the truck, get everything to your new house, and do the same thing in reverse when they get to your house. If you have decided to have a full-service moving company handle your move, there are some things you should do before they get to your house.

Make Reservations

One thing that you need to do is to make some reservations, if necessary. If you live in a high-rise home, you must reserve an elevator for the time of your move. The movers will need to have that to get everything into the truck. Since movers are generally paid by the hour, you want them to be able to use their time efficiently, and having to wait for an elevator and waiting for other people to use it just wastes time. If you have reserved parking, you should also arrange to have a parking space for the truck so that the movers can park conveniently to the doors so they can load the truck.

Deal with Cords

Before the movers come in, you should disconnect your electronics and other things. Not only should you go ahead and disconnect them, but you should also make sure that your cords are organized so that it will be easy for you to reconnect things on the other side of your move. There are a couple of ways that you can organize your cords. One way is to tape them to the electronics so they are with the device they belong to. Another way that you could do it is to gather all the cords together and put them in one container. If you do that, you need to make sure you label each of the cords about which device they go to. That way, you aren't guessing when you get to the other end of your move.

Moving is never fun, and it will be a lot of work. If you are moving and don't want to handle any of it, you can hire a full-service moving company near you to get you started.
